Laura Ingraham hosted Fred Barnes, executive editor of The Weekly Standard, on Saxby Chambliss's victory, the auto bailout, and his view that Obama is embracing "centrism."
Barnes said the victory of Senator Saxby Chambliss indicates that the election of Barack Obama was a once in a lifetime event and that the GOP needs to think about 2010 very seriously. Barnes and Ingraham said they haven't seen a leader emerge yet to lead the conservative movement. Barnes said that Ronald Reagan at unusually powerful political skills and that there is no one out there with that ability.
Barnes and Ingraham said that the tight credit isn't the reason people aren't buying cars. Both Barnes and Ingraham said that there isn't a unanimous consensus that a massive bailout is the best way to dig out of a recession.
