Dalton Fury With Laura Ingraham
Laura Ingraham hosted Dalton Fury on his new book Kill Bin Laden: A Delta Force Commander's Account of the Hunt for the World's Most Wanted Man.
Fury said he uses a pen name as the battle of Tora Bora isn't just about him, but about the whole Special Ops group and also for his safety and that of his family. He said Delta Force has been around for about thirty years and are an elite group of special ops.
He said he feels they underestimated what they could do in Tora Bora with aid from the locals as there is a different cultural dynamic with the Baliban and al-Qaeda there. He said he doesn't question the decision to go after bin Laden, but some of the tactics or strategies could be mistaken.
Fury said he left the military due to his family. He said that the military also became risk averse - and that the rules of engagement were tightened in Afghanistan where in Iraq they were able to go at it more.
Fury said he is surprised in a way that bin Laden hasn't been caught, but that it is daunting with the terrain and the support he has in the area.
