Byron York With Laura Ingraham (12/19)
Laura Ingraham hosted Byron York of National Review.
York said that President Bush basically kicked the ball down the road with the bridge bailout for the auto industry - and then the Democrats can take care of the problem. York said that Congress wouldn't go along with any plan as the Southern senators are from auto making states with foreign cars. York said it is work rules as well as contracts with the UAW that is a problem for Detroit.
York and Ingraham said that the flap over Pastor Rick Warren giving the invocation at Obama's inauguration works for him. York said that Obama sends mixed messages on marriage to gays. York said that Warren has a better argument with pro-life groups to speak at the inauguration.
York and Ingraham noted that there are all sorts of votes appearing for Al Franken from every and enywhere. He said that Norm Coleman and Al Franken are basically tied in the Senate race.
York said President Bush seemed at peace in his last interview with him, especially with the success of the surge. He said that Bush thinks Harriet Miers would have been a great Supreme Court justice and that he has no regrets about the immigration push - only that it failed.
York said that President Clinton's extensive list of foreign donors, but that it is an issue as Hillary Clinton will now be Secretary of State - which brings up conflict of interest which the GOP would never get away with.
