"Report: Blagojevich to appoint Senate replacement" from AP reports that Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is going to appoint 71 year old former Attorney General Roland Burris to Barack Obama's Senate seat. The Senate said they won't seat anyone that Blagojevich appoints.
One has to wonder when the Senate has gotten so high and mighty, given their recent records of taking taxpayer money and giving away without transparency or accountability - it would seem they are far worse than Blago and certainly no worse than Caroline Kennedy sniffing around for a Senate seat appointment in return for her alleged fundraising and influence skills.
And certainly Barack Obama's machine has its own cast of characters of question - including slum developer Valerie Jarrett whom he wanted to hand the seat to until caught in the Blago web.
