"Bidentity Crisis: Where's Joe?" from Politico reports that newly minted Vice-President elect Joe Biden has been out of sight for the past three weeks since the November 4th election - even as he was hailed by Barack Obama for his foreign policy and other bonafides. However, other luminaries have dominated the headlines to overshadow the voluble Biden practically into oblivion as if he were a GOP candidate. While he may in a hidden location like Dick Cheney was frequently, one doesn't get the feeling Biden is pulling the levers behind the curtain.
Yet in a column last week The Washington Post's David Ignatius called Biden "the incredible shrinking vice president-elect."
"Where is he these days?" Ignatius wonders. "Do they have him in a box? He can't be happy at the idea of considering Clinton as foreign policy tsarina — wasn't Biden's foreign policy savvy the reason he was picked?"
Those close to Biden say he views his role as providing counsel to the president — a function that's often not visible to the public — and that he is doing just that.
