"FBI investigating companies at the heart of the meltdown" from AP reports that Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the defunct Lehman Brothers and AIG are under investigation by the FBI for fraud, including the people who run the institutions.
It would seem that this is being put out now to pacify the American public to ensure passage of the $700 billion bailout on the taxpayers dime. But one has to ask - is this too little, too late? Why are we finding this out now - or was this just put in action due to the justifiable concern and anger by the American taxpayers.
