TM-I: Obama Picks His Own Cheney - DC Insider Joe Biden

The Associated Press reports that Barack Obama has chosen long-times Washington insider Senator Joseph Biden as his vice-presidential running mate.  Biden, who is 65, has served in the Senate since he was 29 and will make up for Obama's lack of foreign policy experience - very much as Vice-President Dick Cheney has for President George W. Bush.

This takes the air out of the overhyped text message that the Obama faithful were allegedly going to get first at 10 o'clock on Saturday - once the Secret Service started trolling around Biden's place.

"A statesman known for slips of his tongue" from Politico

"Analysis: Biden pick shows lack of confidence" from the AP
