Laura Ingraham hosted Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), on how he plans to beat Obama in November.
McCain said that the Saddleback Church Faith Forum, his emphasis on offshore drilling, the Russia-Georgia conflict, etc. have helped him rise in the polls. McCain said that he couldn't get into the choice for vice-president as it starts rumors. Ingraham told him that he shouldn't turn his back on the pro-life stance.
McCain said that the fundamentals of our economy are strong, but that there are challenges. He said that every new innovation has come from the United States. He said that the difference between capitalism and freedom in China can't last and McCain said that the 21st century will be the American century. He said that the new GM Volt is an example of how we can compete. He said that we can, and that he is tired of hearing the word "can't" about America. McCain said that he will continue to examine the ANWR situation and that offshore drilling and nuclear power plants can be put into place much more quickly than the critics say they can.
