Laura Ingraham Factors McCain, Obama, Ludacris & the Montauk Monster
Laura Ingraham hosted "The Factor" for Bill O'Reilly on August 1st. The "Talking Points Memo" was about the do-nothing Congress and compared the dismal performance of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Congress versus the accomplishments of Prime MInister Nouri al-Maliki and the Iraqi parliament.
Ingraham spoke to L'heureux Lewis and Bishop Harry Jackson of the High Impact Leadership Coalition about Barack Obama allegedly playing the race card in his campaign. Ingraham said that with Obama claiming to be a post-racial candidate, his emphasis on him being "different" is incongruous.
Ingraham spoke to Benjamin Johnson over the uproar by some in the elite media over the immigration raids at an Iowa packing plant. Ingraham noted that the enforcement of immigration laws is very popular with the American people while Johnson said it was upsetting to local communities. Ingraham said that the illegal aliens have been replaced by legal Somali immigrants which is appropriate.
Ingraham talked to Jeanne Wolf on the impact of Senator John McCain's ad featuring Paris Hilton and Britney Spears - which apparently Hollywood is irritated by. Ingraham noted how the rest of the country views Hollywood versus how Hollywood views itself and thus this may be why they are annoyed. Wolf said Hollywood thinks the ad validates them while Ingraham said that the Hollywood culture is out of sync with much of the country.
Ingraham spoke to Tyson Slocum and Jonathan Hoenig of Capitalistpig about the furor in the media over Exxon's record profits and Barack Obama's plan to cap their profits and use them for his agenda. Hoenig noted that Exxon's profits aren't excessive for the size of the company and that without profits companies have no incentive to innovate and find new alternative sources of energy.
Ingraham talked to Maggie Gallant of the Animal Planet concerning the hype over the Montauk Monster which has become an Internet source of fascination over exactly what the animal is and if it is in fact a hoax.
Ingraham spoke to John McWhorter on the impact of the controversial Ludacris rap in support of Barack Obama. McWhorter said that Ludacris is a clever rapper, if some of his content is controversial while Ingraham said that the obscenities and misogyny in his lyrics don't play well for a presidential candidate and that Obama wants to have it both ways by condemning Ludacris on one hand and then praising him as an artist on the other hand.
The show was an interesting overview of the week's events with a wide array of guests to debate the issues.
