Is Oprah Ceding Spotlight At Obama Acceptance Speech To Help Obama or Herself?

"Oops, Oprah obligingly opts out of opulent Obama observance" from the Los Angeles Times reports that uber media power and Obama supporter Oprah Winfrey will be at Invesco Field in Denver, according to gal pal Gayle King, but will not be prominently appearing onstage - allegedly to not take attention away from the glow that Obama hopes to engender with his acceptance speech.  However, given that Oprah's TV ratings have slipped since her all out endorsement of Obama - and that he has taken hits for his celebrity linkages, there may be more here than simply generously ceding the spotlight to Obama.

She wants to leave the stage to her fellow Illinoisan, King maintains, whom she campaigned for so vigorously during the early primary season. Her hosting a Hollywood fundraiser at her California home, and her celebrity involvement in packed Obama rallies in Iowa and South Carolina, which he won, and New Hampshire, which he lost, helped raised millions, attract priceless publicity and thousands of newly-motivated campaign volunteers.

But Winfrey's sudden shyness in Denver may also have to do with the fact that she and her No. 1 show apparently paid a price in popularity for taking such a prominent political stance starting last year, as the Ticket has reported here and over here and over here and also here.

    CHARACTER COMPARISONS ...

Lofty speeches are great ... but actons
    speak louder than words !!!

In addition to 20+ more years of service and
experience in the U.S. senate than the other
    candidate ...

One candidate, John McCain watched his fellow
prisoner's backs, at great cost to himself. After
3 years as a tortured P.O.W. in Vietnam, he was
offered early release by the enemy. But, since it
would have been dishonorable to get released
before his fellow prisoners, he refused, which
resulted in 2 1/2 additional years of torture and
    captivity.

The other candidate, Barack Obama threw his
self proclaimed friend, spiritual advisor, and mentor
of 20 years, under the bus for political expediency and gain.

To vote for Obama, after learning these differences ...
will say as much about your character, as it does about
the character of the two candidates.

OPRAH ... from spending several years in Jeremiah Wright's anti-American racist church, listening to sermons like "God Damn America", and giving life time achievement awards to the likes of Louis Farrakhan ... to her newest opportunistic religious beliefs ... who could possibly take Oprah seriously? This woman's ego is soooo big, being a billionaire celebrity isn't enough, she has to start her own religion ... not to mention all the additional money she is going to make selling all those book, tapes, CD's, etc. to her poor followers. Oprah's new power hungry ambitions include efforts to replace traditional America with Obama ... and access to a President she puts into office ... to her efforts at replacing Christianity with a new religion she controls. I think it's time for America to deny Oprah access to our television sets.
