Edwards Waits Until Olympics, Obama Vacation To Drop His Bombshell; God Bless Elizabeth

"Edwards admits to affair, denies fathering child" from AP reports that former VP and presidential candidate John Edwards admitted what the National Enquirer has rumored for weeks - that he had an affair with a 42 year old Rielle Hunter who was a novice filmmaker for his campaign - but isn't the father of the child.  Apparently the family has known since 2006 when they became aware of the affair.

The mainstream press had sat on the story, nibbling gingerly on the edges - whether protecting a super liberal candidate - or his wife Elizabeth who is suffering from bone cancer. 

But always looking out for No. 1, he waited until the Olympics and Obama's vacation to drop this little bombshell.  Needless to say, it would seem his presence at the convention, his endorsement of Obama and his future political career can be forgotten.  What can't be forgotten is the courage of his wife, Elizabeth.  We pray for her.
