"Obama's shifting positions on Iraq - a Rezko connection?" from Pajamas Media reports that after the bravado speech by Senator Barack Obama dissing the war in Iraq in 2002, he seemed to have some flip-flops of heart that strangely track the connections to and of Syrian Tony Rezko, Ayham al-Samurai and Nadmi Auchi.
In the extensively sourced article, it is noted that in 2004, Senator Obama changed his stance to one in which - despite the rising insurgency and militia activity in Iraq, Obama seemed to favor staying the course - corresponding with the time that Mr. Rezko and his Rezmar International was dickering for a certain Chamchamal Power Project in Iraq with assists from Chicago pals Nahdmi Auchi - the Donald Trump of the Middle East and the former Iraqi exile cum US citizen cum returned Iraqi electricity minister Ayham al-Samurai.
But voila - come time for Mr. Obama to throw his hat in the ring, he was selective in his memory of his stances - harking back to his Illinois state Senate days when he made his speech in 2002 before election to the US Senate. This is, coincidentally at the time when Mr. Rezko's power plant project fell through - and of course things took a bad turn for Mr. Rezko in the criminal sense as well.
Will the mainstream media examine the threads of this story with the same microscopic detail that it has Mr. McCain's record? Given the paucity of Mr. Obama's experience, this shouldn't be too much to ask.
