Black, Hispanic Caucuses Weigh In On Obama VP Choice

"Obama team weighs Nunn, Edwards as running mates" from AP have floated the names of former Senators Sam Nunn of Georgia and John Edwards of North Carolina as potential vice-presidential candidates for Senator Barack Obama.

Both men represent red states that Obama hopes to pick off - and both would help Obama with white men.

Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, D-Mich., who leads the Congressional Black Caucus seems to be the messenger to the public and to the Obama Veep Squad.  She also indicated an interest in former Vice-President Al Gore - as did Rep. Baca of California, of the Hispanic Caucus.  He is a former Clinton supporter - and his caucus offered up the names of Edwards, Sens. Joe Biden and Chris Dodd, Gore, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sibelius and Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano.

Interestingly, the Hispanic Caucus didn't seem to offer up the name of Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico who is from a key state and who is Hispanic.  There are allegedly 20 names on the list.
