McClellan Gets To Have It Both Ways: Access & Cashing In and Out
"Exclusive: McClellan whacks Bush, White House" from Politico reports on the release of former Bush administration press secretary Scott McClellan's new memoir What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception is the latest political tell all tome from someone who had a modicum of access - and now is cashing in.
It appears that from the mind-catching title and his assertions that McClellan and his publishers clearly had a story, well timed, to insure a maximum of book sales. The question has to be: why did he stay? Why didn't he resign if in fact the culture of deception was so rife? It seems that McClellan gets it both ways - a big job and then a big book - and no doubt a bright future as a cable commentator.
