    Fidel Castro Pro Progressive Obama

"Castro casts his vote for Obama" from Forbes reports that Fidel Castro - if he could vote in the US elections, would vote for Barack Obama.

    UPDATE:

    "Another Obama endorsement!"

On Monday the 81-year old Castro published a column in the state-run Granma making it clear that although he disagrees with Obama’s decision to maintain Washington's trade embargo against Cuba, he believes Obama is “doubtless, from the social and human points of view, the most progressive candidate to the U.S. presidency.”

He did, however, offer criticisms and even suggested that Obama was not a change agent, but another US hack politician:

At the same time, Castro had no problem criticizing Obama’s positions on Cuba: “Presidential candidate Obama’s speech may be formulated as follows: hunger for the nation, remittances as charitable hand-outs and visits to Cuba as propaganda for consumerism and the unsustainable way of life behind it.”
