Laura Ingraham hosted Rev. Michael K. Jones of St. Lawrence Parish.
Jones said that in public no one will be denied Communion - but that when Mayor Giuliani went to Communion during the papal mass, it was at odds with church teachings and Giuliani had been apprised of this. Jones said that because Robert Novak wrote a column about this - and that Giuliani received it at a very public and high profile rite, Cardinal Edward Egan was more or less forced to comment on this publicly. Jones said that the Church isn't a police state - that people by their actions have broken their association with the Church.
I think this denying of communion, for a Guliani or a Kerry, is an abuse of power by the Catholic church. I think they need to accept all who want it. I'm sure there are other "sinners," as defined by the church, who get communion.
