The AP reports that General David Petraeus will take over CentCom - the command responsible for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as oversight of the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. CentCom is based in Tampa, Florida. General Ray Odierno, who was Petraeus' deputy, will replace Petraeus in Iraq.
In an ironic twist - and as a slap at Admiral Fallon who had disagreements with Petraeus, he is being replaced by a man he had difficulties with.
