MSNBC's Super Softball Pro-Obama Ohio Debate
"Clinton, Obama clash over NAFTA, Iraq" from AP gives a media overview of the Ohio Democrat candidates debate between Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
It once again demostrated the bias toward Senator Obama that the media has had - not asking tough questions of his record - and not displaying any of his negative ads or fliers about Senator Clinton - but playing several of her clips that have been perceived as negative - while playing one short one of Obama's.
There was little probing of Obama's lack of experience - on his foreign relations experience in which there was no follow up on his sub-committee work - is this all he has to offer on this vital area? There was no follow up on his state record in Illinois as there has been on Clinton's record as first lady. No follow up question was asked about why we haven't been attacked since September 11th if al-Qaeda is even more of a threat.
There was nothing said about Obama's overreaction to the presentation of him in African garb - as if this were a smear.
Senator Obama also indicated that he would jump back into Iraq or other areas if there was deemed sufficient intelligence. However, that was also the decision that President Bush made for the Iraq invasion - based on multiple intel sources. It would seem that Senator Obama would follow his course in that case.
Senator Obama got the "how did you feel" question about Senator Clinton's remarks - how Oprah-like was that?
Altogether, MSNBC displayed an astonishing amount of bias in this debate - and then went on to congratulate themselves in the post debate coverage for their lazy, ill-prepared performance. Hillary Clinton actually came off looking stronger than any of the men on the stage - and this comes from a Republican. They actually conceded that she was the one who came on strongly in the debate - not them. Tim Russert and Brian Williams did get shown up in a way that they may not have intended - whatever the results may be.
