Have The Women In His Life Fostered Obama's Anti-Americanism?

"Obama's women reveal his secret" from Asia Times is a very tough, incisive look at the two women who have influenced Barack Obama - his mother Ann Dunham and his wife Michelle.

The article points out that Obama's mother was a anthropologist of the leftist sort that tends to be protective of minorities who are perceived to be victims of America's hegemony.  She married twice - her first husband, Obama's father, left her to raise the younger Barack Obama alone - and the second moved her to Indonesia where she wrote a doctoral thesis that essentially bemoaned the plight of some of the primitive people living there.  The article also notes the anger of Michelle Obama over real and/or perceived slights she has received in her life - despite a more comfortable upbringing than many of her peers.  Ironically, much is made of Barack Obama's African heritage from a man who spent little time with the young Obama relative to his mother's family who did.  His American side seems to get short shrift - where is "Dreams from My Mother" - or are those subsumed into those of his absent father, not pointing to the proud heritage of his American side?

The author goes so far as to finger Obama as taking advantage of America as surely as an Elmer Gantry styled preacher, riffing and riding on mistakes and failures of the Bush administration and marrying it with his own distaste and/or disdain for America.

The question is - what price will America pay for his election without a much more critical analysis of this empty vessel that we are pouring our hopes and dreams into unthinkingly down the primrose path of selling out our greatness for the temporary comfort food fix of the empty rhetoric of Barack Obama.

This is not an article or analysis that will appear in the United States any time soon as it would go so totally against the current zeitgeist - but it should be at least given a hearing, given the sort of psychoanalysis that other candidates have endured, including his opponent Hillary Clinton.

biased and unsubstantiated stories are the workings of people meant to destroy "their" enemies, to pursue their own personal goals. But electing a new, fresh and quite practical and somewhat ideal and goal oriented for "peace" (global in essence) person would be good for the whole world. I am not an American, but I believe that we, all of us need to feel and see a world even for only four (4) years
in peace, free of any major war of any kind, instigated "smartly" by the U.S. Enough is enough, America (sadly) commonly think that "they" are God's gift to humanity, why not try this word? "Menace" for the last 20 or so years. For what, really? Maybe for financial gains brought by individual greed for power & money by a handful who are and were in power, helped by some groups of people/country to also foster their own hidden "agenda" most likely prodded by their own personal greed for power, money and sustained stability. People must have forgotten that we don't live forever, and that to become President of one's country is truly a privilege because not all can become one. To all would be presidents of your own country, live a legacy that your fellowmen and the world all over could be proud of, as a fellow human being.
