"Poll: Voters tired of Iowa, NH first" from the AP reports that according to a AP-Yahoo poll, the American voters are tired on the unrepresentative primary/caucus system that is frontloaded to favor Iowa and New Hampshire as the states that in essence get all the attention from both parties as the stage is set for the presidential elections.
It would seem that the two parties are too lazy to organize the primary system so that it is more representative of the nation rather than insulting the voters with such gems as the voters in those two states are better judges of the candidates. This would also apply to the Electoral College in the general election where candidates target a few states such as Florida and Ohio and ignore the rest of the nation. It also influences federal spending as well.
The best solution is for voters to not send money to the parties or candidates unless they show up in their states and really campaign instead of asking for money.
- According to a national survey conducted for The Associated Press and Yahoo News, just over half of all voters said New Hampshire and Iowa have an extraordinary amount of influence over who wins the two parties nominations.
