"Web game provides free rice for hungry" from BBC News reports that a new online vocabulary game provides 10 grains of free rice for the hungry for every click - and so far 50,000 people have been fed for a day, according to the World Food Program.
Fundraiser John Breen came up with the game. People are encouraged to spread the word any way they can - and some have done it with YouTube videos and responses... check them out...
Companies advertising on the website provide the money to the WFP to buy and distribute the rice.
FreeRice went online in early October and has now raised 1bn grains of rice.
That is enough rice to feed 50,000 people for one day, the WFP said on Friday.
