Ingraham Throws Down a Marker to Conservatives on the Robertson Endorsement of Giuliani
"Laura Ingraham rips Robertson for Giuliani endorsement" from National Review reports on the hot discussion on Ingraham's top rated radio show on November 7th when 700 Club founder Pat Robertson endorsed Rudy Giuliani for the 2008 GOP presidential nomination.
Callers almost universally expressed dismay, puzzlement and concern over this apparent sell out of conservative principles that Robertson had previously been the standard bearer for. This reaction was not surprising considering a recent poll this week in reaction to a UK Daily Telegraph listing of the US's top conservatives that had the moderate Giuliani listed as #1 (Ingraham was in #15 - the top woman - and she did it by herself, Hillary!). Ingraham's listeners definitely didn't buy the Telegraph's assessment. (Go to the site LauraIngraham.com to see the poll).
Ingraham threw down the marker to conservatives - who is the candidate who best represents conservative principles and are conservatives going to accomodate or stand up on principle.
