Las Vegas: Hill Raisers' Hell Raising For Diamond & Pearl Gal Shows Pre-Debate Prep
"Clinton accuses rivals of mud-slinging" from the AP reports on the straw that stirred the debate drink - Senator Clinton, who changed her victimization tactics from the gender card to the frontrunner card faster than a casino dealer could shuffle the deck. She was aided and abetted by the hell raising Hill Raisers in the audience who booed on cue when Senator Obama or John Edwards aimed at the Diamond and Pearls Gal.
Clinton cleaned up the driver's licenses for illegals mess by getting Governor Spitzer to lead block so she could run through, twisting her position to the shortest answer she has given in any debate "No" to the question of licenses for illegals. Instead it was Obama who shuffled around and fell into the Clinton trap himself - and got caugth on several other points - his not voting on the Iran issue, his health care plan not covering all citizens - as well as the storage of nuclear waste. She also got shots into Senator Edwards on mudslinging indirectly and supported the second tier to divide and conquer.
Clinton is a quick study and with the waffling Wolf Blitzer who lit some fireworks that quickly fizzled in the loosely constructed debate format, he was left to be the safety patrol in a gang ridden school. He needed to turn off some microphones - clearly the candidates knew right away they were in filibuster heaven with him allegedly in control.
Clinton also gave the general election answer that national security takes precedence over human rights in regards to Iran - as did Senator Dodd who has clearly read the polls on this and driver's IDs for illegals. They were all careful to avoid the word abortion, instead using the code word women's privacy. Clinton also got in a little gender card time when she spoke about her Wellesley speech in which she talked about dealing with the boys in politics. She clearly was better prepared this time with pre-prep moves and with being more informed on her opponents rather than leaning too heavily on Bush bashing, which she did get enough in.
The losers were Edwards and Obama - the others kept their places as potential cabinet members - or as the veep - though Clinton will pick someone who serves her election purpsoses best.
