Bush Administration: No Fore-SITE In Leaking Al-Qaeda Intel

"Leak severed link to al-Qaeda's secrets" from the Washington Post reports that the SITE Institute Intelligence Group, which is a private intelligence monitoring company, said that they had given a heads up to the Bush administration about an upcoming Osama bin Laden tape on September 7 - on the condition of anonymity.  That was breached as several began to download the tape and put out the transcript and tape contents to the media.  Al-Qaeda was able to jump on the breach, and thus the leak has sabotaged and ruined SITE's efforts.

The founder of the company, the SITE Intelligence Group, says this premature disclosure tipped al-Qaeda to a security breach and destroyed a years-long surveillance operation that the company has used to intercept and pass along secret messages, videos and advance warnings of suicide bombings from the terrorist group's communications network.
