Driving Miss Hillary (Crazy)
Senator Hillary Clinton found that she can run, but can't hide from her record - as her male colleagues finally showed a little gumption, albeit with pea shooters, and challenged her lack of straight answers on a number of issues that ranged from the complex to the simple - and her voice responded in stridency.
Her vote on Iran got a working over as acceding to President Bush and essentially giving him the green light for war in Iran while she tried mightily to be St. Joan versus the Bush administration on any issue she could call up.
She bordered on the ridiculous when it was asked whether she would facilitate the release of the millions of documents at the Clinton presidential library that her husband had asked not to be released until 2012 which she tried to fudge on as Senator Obama called her out on her lack of transparency on her record as First Lady - which she glibly cites continually as the basis for her candidacy.
Later Senator Chris Dodd, who had one of his best performances, called her out on the case of drivers' licenses for illegal immingrants as espoused by Governor Eliot Spitzer - a simple yes or no answer required - and still tried to triangulate and blame the Bush administration for the lack of comprehensive immigration reform.
This will certainly set up all sorts of opportunities for the Republican candidates to get off some great shots... no doubt Patti Solis Doyle and Bill Clinton will be churning out the fundraising e-mails talking about her great performance, how everyone is beating up on her and how authentic she really is...
