    Richard Land With Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Dr. Richard Land.

Land said that he is disappointed with Dr. Dobson's criticisms of Fred Thompson.  He said that Thompson has supported DOMA being federalized so that judges can't turn over DOMA.  He said it is unfair to say that Thompson favors fifty different definitions of marriage as so many states are pretty much consistent as to the definition of marriage.  He said that criticism of church attendance is bogus as Jimmy Carter was a consistent church goer and Ronald Reagan wasn't.  He said that he thinks Democrats are waking up to the fact that religion is central to so many voters.

Land said that Mormanism is a drag for Romney on his campaign.  He said that evangelicals don't believe that Mormanism is part of the core Christian beliefs, but that he should defend his right to have his belief and should explain how it would and would not inform his presidency.  He said that evangelical churches are growing and this needs to be taken into account along with their issues.  He said that the nomination of Giuliani would be a very foolish move - and would give Democrats a shot at the evangelical votes.  Land said that the bottom line is the abortion issue.
