"US Candidates Follow Money To London" from UK Guardian reports that President Clinton and Michelle Obama will follow the money trail that Mayor Giuliani has blazed in mining the ex-patriates living in London for campaign donations.
Can Jeri Thompson, the Romney clan, Elizabeth Edwards, etc. be far behind? And will any bother to stop by and see the troops in Iraq - no money there?
What is unseemly is that the candidates seem more interested in mining dollars and data on voters than on doing campaigning in their own country, meeting voters throughout the nation, rather than merely in the early caucus and primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, etc.. They eschew debates and forums, but embrace fundraising. Clearly this is blatant evidence of the power of the cold cash over warm bodies.
