    China's One Child Policy Comes Back To Haunt

    "China to act on gender imbalance" from BBC News reports that due to aborting higher numbers of girl fetuses, China has a disproportinate number of men versus women going forward.  There are fears that this could lead to many social problems and unrest, according to the China's Family Planning Association (CFPC).  The practice is now forbidden and tougher punishments are being put into place - but China's one child policy and the preference for boys over girls has created a huge problem, particularly in the poverty stricken areas where boys are expected to help support the family.

    Just like in the U.S. When the government gets involved it only makes things worse. I heard a recent ad, by the oil companies I'm sure, stating that if we go with all kinds of taxes and punishment of the oil industry there will be gas lines again.
