Vitter-ly Sorry, Madam: Ross Off Reportage ABC's?

"Senator's Number on Escort Service's List" reports that GOP Senator David Vitter of Louisiana's phone number was on the DC Madam's list - which he has admitted is true and has made peace with his wife.

"This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible," Vitter said Monday in a printed statement. "Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there - with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way."

Vitter was one of the stars of the recent Senate immigration debate and in the public eye during Hurricane Katrina.  One has to wonder where ABC's Brian Ross was on this one - he allegedly got no big names in his reportage on the incident...
