    Gitmo Wishful Thinking

"The Gitmo Fantasy" from the NY Post notes that as much as people would like to close Gitmo - and contend that it is a stain on the US's image abroad, there has been good reason to detain terror suspects there - and that those who have been released have in many cases gone back to their old tricks on the battlefield.  They cite as Exhibit A Abdullah Mehsud, a sen ior Taliban commander who blew himself up in Pakistan rather than being captured - and who was also a graduate of Gitmo.

Clearly, there needs to be some way to hold the worst of the worst - and there are few bleeding hearts that would like to have them in their backyards or take them into their homes.  Thus, as distasteful as it may seem, Gitmo may be the best solution for the time being until something better idea is conceived.
