Barack Obama is a "Potter Parent" according to his wife Michelle who said that her husband has read the first six Harry Potter books to his oldest daughter Mahlia and went to the latest Harry Potter movie on Sunday.
It looks like Obama is going for the fantasy book lovers voting bloc... and a great way to garner the present and future youth vote...

Jim told me yesterday that he read the first 2 Harry books but that, with the third, they were becoming darker and he quit. Perhaps that is why they now appeal to some adults so much.
