Carlos Slim has beaten Bill Gates as world's richest man, says Times of London - according to a Mexican financial website Sentido Común. Telecommunications tycoon Slim is worth a cool $8+ billion more than Gates, ringing in at around $67.8 billion versus Gates $59 billion.
Slim's companies own most of Mexico's telephone and cell phone markets.
