Chertoff: DHS Needs Employee Verification Help

AP's Chertoff Scolds Senate on Immigration" says that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff decried the lack of passage of the Senate's comprehensive immigration bill as it deprived his department of a necessary tool in fighting illegal immigration - that is, requiring companies to check a database to make sure that their employees were legal US residents.

It would seem this could and should be voted on immediately...
