Depths of Haight-Ashbury: New Grass-Roots Generation Lives Down To Pot-ential
"Hippie Backlash In Haight-Ashbury" by Michelle Malkin reports on the devolution of the historic Haight Ashbury area of San Francisco where boomers who settle
d there and dropped back into society are disgusted with the new generation of deadheads who use their flower power to relieve themselves in flower beds, sell illegal substances on the street and generally devalue the culture and real estate with their presence - which isn't evoking any nostalgia. These unscrubbed, shiftless, unemployed youth have mutated into a strain that seems to be harder to cure and without some of the idealism of the first iteration - more into total self-gratification without even a patina of caring about their fellow man or woman.
