Weddings and Beheadings: Will This Gross Story Be Pitched For TV Series?

UK Times' "Beheadings turned into black comedy" reports on writer Hanif Kureishei and his opus story "Weddings and Beheadings" in which a Baghdad TMZ type takes the maxim "it bleeds, it leads" to a sickening level - by filming beheadings for the mass market - as well as weddings, using comic relief to help him cope.  It is shortlisted for Britain's National Short Story Prize... will this concept next be presented on UK TV - to be imported here in the US???
