    Beyond Walter Reed: Ditto

    "It's Not Just Walter Reed" in Monday's Washington Post is a follow up by Anne Hull and Dana Priest who have received a flood of response to the disgraceful conditions at Walter Reed Medical Center outpatient center.  Apparently this is a systemic problem - soldiers intimidated who talk, rooms with trash, fruit flies and syringe on the table, the beat goes on...

    Perhaps if less time were spent poring over "Hardball" transcripts by the administration, giving Chris Matthews his jollies, and more care taken to planning for our wounded veterans - and if all the politicians were spending less time using the troops to back up their partisan agendas and looking out for them, this inexcusable mess wouldn't be a story. 

    "Newsflash: Government health care sucks" notes the fact that government run health care programs worldwide have difficulties meeting the needs of the clients.  The Center for the Intrepid in San Antonio was built in record time privately with citizen donations.  Perhaps this could be a model...
