    Bush Won't Be Rushed On Iraq; Dems Rush In To Freelance Diplomacy

    After being criticized for rushing into war in Iraq, the AP reports that President Bush on Wednesday said he will not be rushed into pronouncements on revisions in Iraq strategy.

    He was flanked by the Joint Chiefs of Staff after wrapping up talks with them and declared that the violence was horrific - but that the goal was still victory. 

    Meanwhile, Democrat Senator Bill Nelson defied the Bush administration and went to Syria to chat up Bashar Assad - apparently encouraged by the Iraq Study Group and freelancing, filling the holiday vacuum.  Look for Senator John Kerry to swing by there on his Middle East trip - just to needle Bush (although he has not announced this) - but Senator Chris Dodd has.

    Michelle Malkin describes them as Syria's tools and fools...
