Michelle Malkin has reactions to the Senator John Kerry apology for his ill-considered remarks about the education level of the troops.
What erased Kerry's military credibility was written in the 1970s in which he testified in a pompous manner against his fellow service men about alleged heinous war crimes they committed - which Kerry had never witnessed. This obviated his military decorations and service - and thus his initial political expediency at that time came back to bite him - ironically by non-servers. This also gave credibility to the Swift Boat allegations.
The apology once again blamed the victims - that his remarks were misinterpreted rather than that he made the misstep. He also made a mistake in taking a swipe at Bush's education - given that Bush's academic record was comparable or slightly better than Kerry's undistinguished record. Once again he has come off as the effete, clueless political hack. Right now other candidates are calling his donors and supporters for their own efforts.
Call it political instinks - he apologized for the remark after he vowed not to.
