    Lack of Patriotism Is Self-Loathing

Michelle Malkin in response to the Dixie Chicks questioning of the concept of patriotism, has put a link on her blog to the Department of Defense list of country stars who entertained the troops.

While there have been any number of media stars who cynically may make statements about supporting the troops to be politically correct or to boost themselves and their careers, there are those that visit and/or entertain the troops, put themselves in harm's way and contribute in many substantial ways.

Since patriotism is generally described as love of country - and the Dixie Chicks are American citizens, it would seem that not believing in patriotism is an act of self-loathing.  One doesn't have to believe in every policy or utterance of a politician to be patriotic - but one should love the Constitution that guarantees Americans basic rights and freedoms.
