Chemical Ali Baba Stash A Blast From Our Past?

Michelle Malkin reports at her blog on the release of documents that reveal Iraq had 500 chemical weapon shells that were discovered - and that there is buzz about why this info and intel is being released so slowly when the world community has been jumping up and down about no WMDs found in Iraq - the alleged major pretext for war in Iraq.  Both Senator Rick Santorum, in a tough Senate race and Rep. Pete Hoekstra have been leading the charge in this revelation.

As to why the intel has been kept under wraps... it is said that these are from the end of the first Gulf War - and this leads one to wonder if these are somehow connected to earlier US involvement in Iraq - and thus the classification of information that one would think would have been bandied about with ribbons and bows around it... it is the one explanation that would make sense - that it is connected to the US and/or allies - and if this is the case, it will stay put albeit with occasional strip teases for strategic political purposes...
