National Health Care for Pervs - NY Pays for Viagra for Sex Offenders

Audit - Sex Offenders Getting Viagra" from the Washington Post, reports
that a number of convicted rapists and other sex offenders have been getting
Medicaid - paid for by law abiding taxpayers for the past five years, according
to comptroller Alan Hevesi's office - after their convictions!
This is a result of a 1998 law allowing Viagra to be paid for by Medicaid.
Secretary of Health and Human Services Leavitt has been contacted - one has
to wonder how many other states have a similar problem. One has to wonder why
there has been no cross-checking of this information against the vaunted sex
offender registry - if that is even operative. Both NY senators said they hope
this can be solved without legislation - given Congressional gridlock, that
could be forever. What's next - lighters for arsonists, guns for murderers'
protection, ski masks for robbers?
Meanwhile our elderly choose between meds and food...
Where else but in NY?!? What does a prisoner need with Viagara (sorry I asked)?
