Many pundits are baffled, enraged and grossed out over the recent strange political
embeds together, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Speaker Newt Gingrich -
especially as both are potential presidential nominees for their respective
parties.

Both have expressed strong concerns about health care and national security
and are surely mining each others' minds for that treasure trove of big ideas
that can steamroll them to the White House in 2008. They clicked into the nation's
disgust with both parties lackadaisical attitude towards illegal immigration.

Both are tapping into a growing concern of voters - and the people who really
count - the kingpins of industry who are whining about health care costs as
creating an unfair advantage for foreign competition that has national health
care (never mind their lousy business plans, product designs and shoddy product
quality). These cardboard capitalists will be looking to spread the health care
and pension burden to government so that the citizens can pay for their health
care without realizing it while carping about the onerous burden that government
places on their risk-taking, entreprenuerial propensities. Voila Senator Clinton's
castigated health care plan will enjoy a renaissance and rebirth not seen since
the end of the Middle Ages. Furthermore, look for solutions to the Medicare,
Medicaid and prescription drug benefits that will all escalate in tandem with
the deficit. A centerpiece of the solution will be the trimming of benefits
to illegal immigrants which if it continues on its current course, will be a
top issue in 2008.

This health care - security - illegal immigrants triangulation will have plenty
of the trappings of menus and choices, personalization, good values, all manner
of high tech, and the hearty support of small business, unions and captains
of industry who want the perks but not the bills.

The winner will be the candidate that can max out the triangle, striking the
right balance and notes. And all of those now furrowing their brows and blowing
their horns on any media outlet that needs their time and space filled, will
be in the stands while either Hillary or Newt repeat that famous oath.
