Chicago Hails Mary's Return
Chicago Hails Mary's Return
"Virgin Mary
Image Restored on Underpass" tells about two carwash workers restoring
the alleged image of the Blessed Mother on the wall of an underpass, removing
graffiti and brown paint. This has been controversial as quite a number of would-be
pilgrims had made such activity dangerous with too many people crowding an area
designated for traffic.
Memo to Chicago: Rent "Song of Bernadette" the Oscar winning movie
that tells the story of St. Bernadette of Lourdes, the poor French girl who
saw visions of the Blessed Mother at a grotto. From there a spring of water
gushed forth, and today Lourdes is identified as responsible for many miracle
cures. Bernadette is a renowned saint and the rest of the community know-it-all
elites...
Moral: Let the people come and reroute traffic. Lourdes is one of the world's
great tourist spots due to its pilgrims and others. Sometimes doing good has
its rewards here on earth.
I just read yesterday that this was painted over. Now they have restored it!
