Tamoxifen As Breast Cancer Preventative

The drug Tamoxifen is being given to women to stave off breast cancer just as statins ward off heart disease.

New guidelines suggest tamoxifen or raloxifene could offer up to 20 years of protection for those considered at high risk of cancer
Women would take the drugs for five years either before or after menopause, with the aim of slashing odds of developing the disease
